These pictures will show you where to measure your bike to create your own Fit String. You can then transfer measurements from your current bike to a spin bike or another bike.
1. Seat height from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle.
Use this method to measure seat height if crank arms are the same length.
2. Seat height from the top of the pedal to the top of the seat. Position the crank in line with the seat tube and place the nut on top of the pedal/axle next to the crank arm. Use this method for different crank arm lengths.
3. Reach measurement from the center of the saddle rails to the armrest. This method is best when riding different saddles. If using the same saddle you can also measure from the tip of the saddle.
4. Reach measurement from the center of the saddle rails to the "crook" of the brake hoods or base bar. This is the position where you normally place your hands on the handlebars.
5. Labels
6. Saddle Set Back. This is the distance that the tip/front of the saddle is behind or in front of the center of the bottom bracket.
7. Drop Measurement. Measure from the ground to the top of the saddle and to the top of the armrests and/or handle bars; where you normally place your hands.
