Caring for your wetsuit:
Do’s
- Do all of your stretching before putting on wetsuit.
- Do use a lubricant product designed for wetsuit use.
- Do wear the rubber on the outside and the zipper in the back
- Pull up legs gradually a little at a time so the wetsuit fits snugly up on the crotch.
- Wetsuit should be snug but not uncomfortably tight.
- To avoid overheating, do a warm up swim, then bring down torso of suit till 2-3 minutes before wave start.
- Do rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every use.
- Hang inside out to dry.
- If possible it’s best to store your suit laying flat.
Don’ts
- Don’t use petroleum jelly, Vaseline or cooking sprays on your wetsuit.
- Don’t put in the washer or dryer.
- Don’t leave your suit crumpled up over night or over the season.
- Don’t leave your suit in direct sunlight or heat.
- Don’t store near jagged edges or sharp objects.
When folding your wetsuit for travel:
- Cross arms in front of torso
- Bring ankles to shoulders
- Fold into thirds in a rolling motion avoiding deep creases.
